Walking Tall Fitness Blog Number One!
Greetings to all of my Walking Tall clients and to any interested visitors to my website (Walkingtallfitness.com) or Facebook page. It is my goal to update this blog weekly and use this column to inform, educate and motivate my readers.
What is Walking Tall? It's a perspective and an experience, it's Reformer Pilates, it's hands-on assisted stretching (Fascial Stretch Therapy), it's optimizing neuromuscular function (Muscle Activation Technique), it's suspended exercise (TRX), it's having your own personal trainer and using all of that and more to put together your personal fitness plans and if the need exists, to address issues of chronic pain to make exercise possible.
"Walking Tall" means mobility in your joints, it means balance and stability throughout your body. It means a natural, easy posture that doesn't waste your energy. When you Walk Tall you learn how to move again (or maybe you learn to move correctly for the first time!). Your muscles are re-educated to bring a flow to your physical life, to contact and connect your body to your spirit.
I have found a great space for this work, right in downtown Millbrook, NY, directly next to Marona's Market (which is, in my opinion, the best small town market in the Hudson Valley!). With hardwood floors and the high, original decorative ceiling dating back to the site of the old village Post Office, with the floor-to-ceiling front windows and great lighting, this is a space that welcomes and cheers all who enter!
I've endeavored to bring together the place, the tools, the knowledge and experience to change your life. It's my mission and calling to work with you to help you to explore and evolve your possible body, to find a mindful way to inhabit your physical self.
And finally, it should feel good. When moving feels good, you can Walk Tall!
